Who Owns Canada? is a lost classic of Canadian socialism. Writing under the pseudonym “Watt Hugh McCollum”, the author (confirmed, after his death in the 1980s, to have been sociologist Louis Rosenberg) undertook a comprehensive study of corporate power and corporate ownership in Canada in the 1930s, revising his work for a second edition in the next decade. Several of the family hierarchies that were in place then still wield power today. The text is accompanied by provocative and stylish illustrations.
