The final report of Canada’s report into the Indian Residential Schools system, a system which was designed to destroy Indigenous culture and traditions and systematically abused, starved, and killed Indigenous children, remains one of the most important public documents in contemporary Canada. This is the executive summary of the testimonies and calls to action resulting from the work of the commission; a careful reader will note that the vast majority of the ninety-four calls to action have not been implemented by governments and public institutions.
The report is available elsewhere as a $30 book, or online as a pdf. We printed a run of 50 with bright orange covers, and we’ll be selling them on a pay-what-you-can basis (plus shipping) while they last.
