Dennis McNulty Singing in the Wire, 2013 Singing in the Wire is a lyric from ‘Wichita Lineman’, which is sung from the perspective of a telecommunications engineer. The letters are made from stenciled limestone and the font is derived from a sixteen-segment digital display. In making this work, McNulty was imagining the lineman listening to the signal, trying to make out what someone was saying through ‘some woolly buzz’.
