Problems in General Linguistics by Émile Benveniste (sold out)

A book with a slate gray cover and blue marker ribbon lies on a bed of sharp gravel. Text on the cover reads "Problems in General Linguistics, Emile Benveniste"Émile Benveniste’s work was brought to our attention originally, a few years back, by friend of the studio Lisa Robertson. Benveniste was a French 20th century linguist and philosopher of language, originally born in Syria in 1902. His ideas surrounding rhythm, context, and even pronouns have taken on new significance in the 21st century.

This edition, with the lovely slate-gray covers we last used on our Pandemic Books version of Building United Judgement, has a blue marker ribbon for convenient study.

This particular edition is available only during the Vancouver Art Book Fair. For each copy sold, we will donate $10 to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.
